About Wassily Kandinsky: The Russian painter, Wassily Kandinsky, Born in Moscow, spent his childhood in Odessa. One of the most famous 20th-century artists, he is credited with painting the first modern abstract works.Perhaps the most important of Wassily Kandinsky Paintings from the decade of the 1900s was The Blue Rider (1903) which shows a small cloaked figure on a speeding horse rushing through a rocky meadow.
